It was a winning Wednesday in Galway as one lucky EuroMillions player scooped an incredible €500,000 in the latest draw. The news has brought plenty of smiles across the county.

Sweeney Oil has been confirmed as the official sponsor of the Senior, Intermediate, and Junior Ladies Football Championships in Leitrim for the 2025 season.

A recent photoshoot held in Carrick On Shannon brought together representatives from clubs across the county to mark the partnership, which highlights Sweeney Oil’s ongoing commitment to supporting local sport and community initiatives.

Jason McEvoy, Area Manager for Sweeney Oil, expressed pride in the partnership.

The partnership arrives at a time of exciting momentum for Leitrim LGFA, with continued growth in player numbers, support, and local engagement. With the county also looking ahead to the 50th anniversary of Leitrim LGFA, the sponsorship is a timely investment in both the present and future of the sport.

We were proud to be a gold sponsor at the Corrandulla Show last weekend. Vistiors to our stand were invited to “Spin the Sweeney Wheel” in exchange for a small donation. All proceeds went directly to the Corrandulla-Annaghdown Active Aged Group.

Thanks to the generosity of everyone who took part, a total of €475 was raised. This donation was presented to the group during their final outing before the summer, which took place at Lydon’s Bar & Restaurant.

Prizes on the day included goodies, oil vouchers, and other spot prizes. Congratulations to Adriene Lynch, who won the grand prize €100 home heating oil voucher.

Sweeney Oil recently supported the Win a Home in Clifden draw by giving one lucky customer five free tickets. The prize, worth €500, offered five chances to win a beautiful new home in the heart of Connemara.

The winner, Gerard Mooney from Headford, Co. Galway, was delighted with the surprise. He is now entered into the main draw alongside thousands of others hoping to win the stunning property.

The competition is organised by the Connemara Chamber of Commerce. All proceeds go toward building a new Business and Enterprise Hub in Clifden. This hub will support local business and create new opportunities in the region.

Clifden is where Sweeney Oil began so we were especially proud to be involved in an initiative that’s all about investing in the future of the region.

Marie’s unwavering commitment to customer service, Tara’s innovative approach to problem-solving, and Louise’s exceptional leadership skills are symbolic of the invaluable contributions women make in every sphere of life.
